The Food Truck Bazaar, Orlando’s Foodie Spot

In the greater Orlando area there is only one place where can you get an authentic French crepe, Mexican enchilada, bowl of Cajun gumbo, roll of fresh sushi and real Swedish meatballs, well, there are actually 7 places depending on where The Food Truck Bazaar is parked. A traveling caravan of more than 50 food trucks, The Food Truck Bazaar is perhaps the hottest dinning spot in Central Florida and on certain nights can be found in Kissimmee, Sanford, Orange City, Casselberry, Oviedo, Lake Nona and yes, Orlando.

If you have not seen a food truck in your city yet thenyou’re bound to have seen one on TV as the popular eateries have become a trend over the past few years by offering gourmet and authentic dishes at affordable prices. In March 2011 Mark Baratelli, founder of the award-winning local web-site TheDailyCity.com, capitalized on his love for food trucks and began organizing the best of the best. In just a little less than one year The Food Truck Bazaar has dredged up a following and now averages more than 1,000 attendees per event.

Here’s a quick sample of some of the favorites.

Five Gastronomy: A favorite at the bazaar, Five Gastronomy serves up fusion inspired classic favorites that will make any mouth water. Be sure to try their take on Mac & Cheese, made with local ricotta, Gruyere and Parmesan then blended with grilled shiitake mushrooms and topped with herbs and bread crumbs.

C&S Brisket Bus: Corned beef, Pastrami, brisket and only the freshest rye bread and sauerkraut are served at this New York style deli on four wheels. All of the sandwiches are piled high and served quick, and of course the chefs only use meats they brine and cook themselves.

The Feast Beast: The flag on the outside of the truck is a dead giveaway, this truck is all about some serious Brazilian cuisine. A variety of Brazilian street food favorites are avaialable like shrimp fritters, cod fritters, grilled sausage on a stick and the massive Beast Sandwich. Served on fresh baked Brazilian bread, the Beast is stuffed with slow braised mojo pork, bacon & Colby jack mac & cheese, sweet slaw and BBQ bean spread.
