Check out these exciting events taking place throughout the Big Easy this weekend and enjoy your Easter holiday New Orleans style.

City Park Easter Egg Hunt: Grab your basket and hop on over to Carousel Gardens and Storyland at the New Orleans City Park as more than 15 thousand Easter eggs, including some special golden eggs with prizes, will be hidden throughout the amusement park. Of course there will be plenty of entertainment as all of the rides will be operating in addition to the appearance of special guest, The Fairy Godmother, who will be sharing exciting stories with everyone. Tickets are $3 and gates open at 8 a.m. with the egg hunt at 10 a.m., so grab the little ones and come out and enjoy Easter in the park.

Historic French Quarter Easter Parade: Taking place for more than 60 years, the parade kicks off at 9:30 a.m. outside of the world-famous Antoine’s Restaurant on St. Louis Street before heading through the French Quarter to the St. Louis Cathedral for Mass at 11 a.m. Along the way a slew of stylish ladies adorned in elaborate hats and dresses will be handing out the much sought after stuffed bunnies so be sure to squeeze in tight along the parade route.

29th Annual Chris Owens Easter Parade: Chris Owens is a legend on Bourbon Street for knowing how to pull out all the stops, and her Easter Parade follows suit. The activities begin at 11 a.m. on Sunday at the Astor Crowne Hotel Ballroom with a continental breakfast, hat contest and silent auction for charity. At 1 p.m. participants will hop aboard the many colorful floats as the parade makes its way down Bourbon Street through the heart of the French Quarter, turning south and then heading back to Canal Street via Decatur Street. After the parade is over be sure to stick around and dance the afternoon away at the champagne brunch while local favorites the Flip Side Band get into the swing of things.
