New Orleans is a city that likes to celebrate, and Easter Sunday is no exception. From egg hunts and extravagant parades to delectable brunches at the city’s finest restaurants there is something for everyone. City Park Easter Egg Hunt: Grab your basket and hop on over to Carousel Gardens and Storyland at the New Orleans City Park as more than 15 thousand Easter eggs, including some special golden eggs with prizes, will be hidden throughout the amusement park. Of course there will be plenty of entertainment as all of the rides will be operating in addition to the appearance of special guest, The Fairy Godmother, who will be sharing exciting stories with everyone. Tickets are $3 and gates open at 8 a.m. with the egg hunt at 10 a.m., so grab the little ones and come out and enjoy Easter in the park.

Music Abound at the 29th Annual French Quarter Festival

It’s early April and that means only one thing in New Orleans; it’s time for the French Quarter Festival. Considered one of the largest free music festivals in the world, the four day event draws in more than 500,000 attendees all celebrating the vibrant music and food that make the Big Easy a one-of-a-kind city. This year’s festival, the 29th installment, will run from Thursday, April 12, through Sunday, April 15, and will feature a variety of musicians and chefs as they bring the streets of the Vieux Carre alive.

During the four day event more than 120 bands comprised of nearly 800 musicians will be showcasing multiple genres of music including gospel, jazz, funk, classical, Cajun and Zydeco. Some of the acts appearing on the 22 stages include the Soul Rebels, Irvin Mayfield, the Royal Southern Brotherhood with Cyril Neville and 2012 Grammy winners the Rebirth Brass Band.
